Testing

Welcome and thanks for making it to this page, your one step ahead of the curve :)

What I would like for you to do is help me discover what mobile phone you have and what videos seem to playback for your device.

Please point your mobile browser to http://mvstreamer.mobi (select test my phone) our software tries to make its best guess as to what phone make/model your have based upon the open source project WURFL (open xml format of most known mobile phones).

Don’t fret if your mobile phone isn’t recognize by our system, you can continue onto the the video test page where you will offered up a few different options to try out. Now while you may see many options depending on what your mobile phone can really do you might not be able to play a lot of the formats.

*Please note, that streaming video is a lot different that downloading a clip to your mobile phone for playback. Some phones may only support the downloading of clips to its internal memory vs the ability to stream video directly to the phone.

This test video is a trailer from Super Man the movie, and the reason I chose this clip is because of the complexity of the quick motions, fade in and out from black, the logos and a few other reasons. Basically this clip is pretty good example to stress the encoder at lower bit rates and yes I know the aspect ratio is wrong, I’m in the process of figuring out the best way to handle 16:9 video, if you happen to know drop me an email.

H.263 + AMR is the most wildly recognized format by phones, so if you cant play that you might want to double check if your mobile phone really supports streaming.

Please fill out the form as your do your test on the phone.
